Description

The PNC Kentucky Derby Festival Tour de Lou has become one of the Festival’s signature events every spring. As 2022 marks the ninth year for the event, the Derby Festival looks forward to offering participants the opportunity to ride in-person or virtually again this year!

The Festival is again partnering with the Louisville Bicycle Club to produce this premier ride, which features distance options for all experience levels. The in-person ride will be an open course through some of Louisville's wonderful parks and neighborhoods. The virtual option is perfect for those who are out of town or prefer to ride solo on your own time and your own course. We are thrilled to be introducing some new features to the course and additional options for families to ride in this signature event!

Distance options include:

  • New for 2022 - The Tour de Lou Family Ride
    • This 1-3 mile looped course allows you to choose the distance that best suits your family.
    • These routes will tour through Waterfront Park and create a more closed course ride then the traditional Tour de Lou distances
  • 20 miles - Great for Families & Beginner or New Riders (Open course, no streets closed.)
  • 35 miles - Great for Moderate/Experienced Riders (Open course, no streets closed.)
  • 62.1 miles - Great for Advanced Riders or those looking for a challenge (Open course, no streets closed.)

Whether you choose in-person or virtual, we hope you’ll ride with us in 2022!

All Derby Festival events and programs adhere to local, state, and federal COVID-19 guidelines. The Festival continues to closely monitor developments with COVID-19 and updates policies and procedures as the guidance evolves. More specific guidelines for ride participants will be shared in the months and weeks leading up to the event.
