THE 2025 SPOOK HILL CIDER & WINE 4-MILE RUN HAS NOW BEEN CANCELED
Why are we pulling the plug? The short answer is that one of the key landowners on the course has just put their property on the market. SMHS cannot afford to incur further expenses for the race with the possibility of having to turn around, cancel, then offer refunds to everyone who has registered if the new owners are not amenable to our traversing the property.
Heck, the place may not even sell, but SMHS simply cannot take the financial risk of planning, contracting for goods and services, and then have to pull the plug. We are too small an organization to be able to absorb such a financial hit.
I’ve always prided myself on giving our runners a great course and a wonderful, inclusive race-day experience. I think Spook Hill ticked all of those boxes (as does Makin’ Hay on a smaller scale!). I’m sorry that we won’t be able to give this experience to you this year. Sadly, SMHS is not currently planning on resurrecting the race in the future, but we never know what the future holds…
