For over 40 years, Luminus has worked with immigrants, refugees, asylees, asylum seekers, and first-generation Americans throughout Maryland. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to live a life free from fear and discrimination, and we work tirelessly to ensure that the immigrant and refugee community has access to the resources they need to thrive.
Taking place at Merriweather Post Pavilion on July 4th, Race4TheWorld 5k helps us achieve our mission by celebrating the journey of immigrants and refugees from around the world and the cultural diversity behind what it means to be an American. Don't miss out, sign up TODAY!

This is a family-friendly event. Participants under the age of 18 automatically receive a $5.00 discount upon check-out.
All In-Person 5k participants receive a race t-shirt if they register by June 20th. All participants receive a finishers medal.

July 3 | 9:30am – 6:30pm | Packet Pickup at Luminus Office (5999 Harpers Farm Rd, Suite E-200, Columbia – MD)
July 4 | 7:30am – 8:00am | Packet Pickup / Race Check In
8:00am – 8:30am | Opening Ceremony
8:30am | Race Starts
9:15am | Closing Ceremony and Awards
Awards:
Awards will go to the top finisher in each of the following categories.
Overall Male and Female
Age Groups Male and Female: 12 and under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
Race Course

Start: We will use a narrow mass start to spread the field out over ten minutes.
Timing: This event will be professionally chip timed by Racine Timing! We will be providing race day results immediately after you finish your race. We will provide a web link to results that you can share with your family and friends so they can follow your race on their web devices.
Course Support: We will have water at the water station as well as at the finish line. We will also have food items and beverages at the finish line area for volunteers and participants only.
Team Competition
Spice up your individual 5K experience, at no extra cost, by also being a part of a team of 5K runners! In addition to your individual entry into the 5K, you can also create or join a team at no additional charge. Teams will consist of 3 or more individual runners in the 5K and can be any combination of genders. Each runner on the team will race as an individual and be eligible for individual awards. The top 3 finishers on a team will have their individual times added together and scored for the team competition.
