First Avenue Mile

The heart of Hibbing summer is on display, where the historic First Avenue Mile draws runners and spectators alike for one unforgettable race. This one-mile dash—equal parts grit, celebration, and tradition—is the perfect distance to challenge seasoned competitors while still welcoming casual joggers and first-timers looking for a fun reason to lace up their old trainers. The course is lined with cheering neighbors, music, and the buzz of community spirit, making it more than just a race—it's a festival of speed, sweat, and camaraderie. Day-of Registration & Starting line - 3401 1st Ave

Same-day registration & bib pick-up: 5:30-6:30pm

Races at 7:00pm (competitive), 7:20 (recreational), and 7:40 (relaxed). Racers will self-seed on race day.  All times will be put together and awards will be given to top finishers no matter what race they ran in.

Awards will be at approximately 8pm. Street sign awards for males and females places 1-3 in the following age groups:
0-13
14-24
25-34
35-44
45-54
55 and up

Finishers will receive a First Avenue Mile keychain and refreshments.

T-shirts are guaranteed for the first 250 registrations.
