Description
Please join us on the charter bus to this year's Montana Cup races in Bozeman (Saturday, November 1). We have a 54-person Tucker Transportation coach reserved to bring the team to the race and back again, but we need a minimum number of commitments to make the $2000 expense worthwhile to the Vig running club. Specifically, we're hoping for 25 paid reservations by Friday, October 17 (two weeks before the race). If we don't reach that threshold, we will cancel the reservation and refund everyone their $20 (and racers can arrange alternate transportation).
The "Big Blue Bus" has been a proud and fun tradition for the Helena Montana Cup team since 2004 (when we captured both the men's and women's Montana Cup trophies in Great Falls). The bus helps build team spirit, allows for folks to relax/socialize instead of driving, saves natural resources, AND is greatly appreciated by the race organizers who have limited parking available. We hope the tradition continues this year and beyond (Billings region 2027, Great Falls region 2028, etc.)! Here's the schedule for race day:
8:30 Begin Loading
9:00 Leave Vigilante Stadium (1025 N Rodney St)
11:00 Arrive at Gallatin County Regional Park (5000 Tschache Ln, near Gallatin High)
12:00 Men's 5k Race
1:00 Women's 5k Race
2:00 Awards & Refreshments
4:00 (or earlier) Depart for Helena
6:00 (or earlier) Arrive back at Vigilante Stadium
To reserve your spot while helping defray the costs of the bus (driver tip, etc.), please register here. The modest $20 fee includes RunSignUp processing. Not a bad deal! Potentially saves folks up to $100 on the trip! (State reimbursement rate including the cost of gas, wear-and-tear on vehicle, etc. is $0.70/mile x 180 miles = $126).
Thank you all, and please let me know if you have any questions.
