STRC Mall Madness Outdoor 5K

Join us for this unique outdoor 5K event!

Introducing the Mall Madness Outdoor 5K at the Arnot Mall located in Horseheads, NY.

Strict COVID rules are in place to keep participants and staff safe.

New NYS COVID rules as of 3/22/21 allow for 200 person outdoor events.  This event will implement an open start line.  You will be allowed to start anytime between 7:30am-9:00am in a socially distanced manner sending runners off every 10-15 seconds.  The start/finish line will be under the parking garage roof at Mall Entrance #3.  When you arrive, park in any of the available uncovered parking lots and report to the parking garage area to retrieve your bib, timing chip, and shirt.   

You must wear a mask at registration, waiting to start, and after the race, but not during the race.   Masks and hand sanitizer will be available on-site.   

Participants will stage socially distanced (6 feet apart) along the parking garage by the start line.   Stage yourself next to a cone and advance when the participant in front of you advances.  Your time starts when you start.   It will be a VERY RELAXED ATMOSPHERE.

Once you finish your race, you will receive a post race goodie bag and be asked to leave the area.   Sorry, due to COVID, there will not be an on-site Awards Ceremony. Please check SouthernTierRunningClub.com for a link to the results.   All awards will be mailed.

Awards will be provided for the following categories:
Overall Male and Female - custom STRC Sweatshirt (purple or gray depending on availability)
Age Group awards:  1st place in M/F 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-117
