Description

Greetings adventurers!

We will be returning to Big Bend National park from 11/12/21 to 11/16/21. Spots are extremely limited for this one. This event is free for Club Spinistry members. Any open slots will be made available to the general public Friday, 11/12. Any donations are greatly appreciated to offset costs. All donations received above actual costs will be rolled into the next Club Spinistry adventure.

Hardtail MTB's with 2"ish tires are the recommended platform. Gravel/adventure bikes should have no less than 40mm tires and plan for some hike a bike. No road bikes, hybrids or e-bikes allowed. No RV's or campers allowed unless you make your own campsite arrangements. Group camp is is ground tent only (no RTT's).

Here's the rough draft based on current camping arrangements. We will have a Spinistry supported loop option for up to 6 people. We will have 12 other spots at base camp available for others to do their own adventures those days. We can come up with some recommendations for self supported adventures that meet your capabilities.

Spinistry Big Bender Loop 2021:
Friday night overnight at group camping in Rio Grande Village.
Saturday Nugent Mountain campsite 43 miles with a good bit of climbing. Alternate "easy" 30 mile route available.
Sunday Telephone Canyon camping of about 45 miles. Mix of pavement and dirt roads. Route goes by store and wifi at mile 7. Alternate 35 mile route available.
Monday "downhill" day of about 20 miles. This route does allow for self supported exploration during or after the ride. Camping available that night at Rio Grande Village group site.

Store and traditional restroom/shower facilities at Rio Grande Village. The rest of the loop will be back country camping. We will haul water and food from point to point in the Spinistry mobile. Sunday will go by a store at mile 10.

More details soon.
