The Central Kansas Conservancy is pleased to announce its Annual Meadowlark Sunset Sprint event to promote our Rails-to-Trails Project! What better way to wrap up the exciting McPherson County All School’s Day festivities than to support one of McPherson County’s fantastic amenities! The Meadowlark Sunset Sprint event will take place at 6:00 pm on Friday, May 8th, 2020, at the Meadowlark Trail Head.
This year’s event will feature three running distances: an 8-mile, a 4-mile, and a 2-mile fun run/walk option, which will showcase the Meadowlark Trail. It will also include a 9-mile fun biking event. The running race path is a 100% trail course winding over McPherson County’s Beautiful Meadowlark Trail. The biking event will take you along the trail as well as some county roads. The event will follow the 2020 All Schools Day theme, which is "Roaring into the 20's". Participants are encouraged to dress the part! Awards will be offered to the crowd favorite!
Participants will have the chance to sample the beauty of a local trail running and walking venue. Runners, walkers, and bikers of all skill levels are invited to participate - from advanced to novice - this event has something for everyone!
