JAKE'S STORY
On November 30, 2013, a joyful Thanksgiving weekend turned into an unimaginable tragedy when 2-year-old Jake slipped out a back door while visiting family in New Smyrna Beach and fell into the Intracoastal Waterway. Despite every effort to save him, Jake could not be revived.
In an instant, our lives changed forever.
From this heartbreaking loss, the Live Like Jake Foundation was born with a mission to prevent childhood drowning through awareness, lifesaving self-rescue swim scholarships, and financial and emotional support for families affected by drowning.
Jake was a joyful, kind-hearted little boy who found happiness in life's simplest moments. His gentle spirit touched everyone he met and continues to inspire us every day.
