Proceeds from the Heart of the Chesapeake Bike Tour will support the Y in two meaningful ways: the Bob Brannock Endowment Fund, designed to ensure that the Y is able to maintain our important commitment to our community in the decades to come, and the Y's Scholarship Fund, which supports the immediate needs of individuals, children and families in our community who need the services and support of the YMCA.
The Metric Century, Half Century and Ragged Point Ride all include a t-shirt in your registration fee.
Day of registration will be available at the Pauline F. & W. David Robbins Family YMCA. This is a RAIN OR SHINE event and no refunds will be given.

Dear fellow cyclists,
Thank you so much for supporting the Heart of the Chesapeake Bike Tour. The YMCA is committed to fulfilling our mission to promote healthy living, nurture the potential of every child and foster a sense of social responsibility in the community. We hope you enjoy your day touring Dorchester County “The Heart of the Chesapeake!”
We wanted to take this opportunity to answer any questions that you may have about our event.
First and foremost is the weather. This event is a Rain or Shine event. In the event that we have rain, the ride will continue as planned. Should this rain become more and thunder and lighting is on course, we ask that all riders take the necessary steps to find shelter and wait out any lightning.
Packet Pickup and Start
Packet Pickup will begin at 6:30am at the Pauline F. & W. David Robbins Family YMCA on Saturday, July 18th,, 2020 ONLY. There is no pre-ride day pickup. Packet pickup will be at the rear area of the gymnasium. THERE WILL BE RIDE DAY REGISTRATION AND EVENT CHANGE.
These rides are all SHOW-AND-GO, with the first suggested time to start at 7am. Remember, if you start earlier than 7am, we cannot guarantee our rest stops will be functional when you get there. Our suggested times for the Metric and Half Century Ride are 7am for start and we suggest the 32 mile Ragged Point Ride should start around 8am.
Please plan accordingly as we will have SAG (Support and Gear) vehicles on the roadways until 1pm, but can guarantee continued support after that time.
We will supply you with a phone number, at check in, to report any issues or concerns you might have on course.
For your convenience, the courses have been added to the top of our registration page at www.runsignup.com/ heartofthechesapeakebiketour for your convenience. These courses have both direct links to MapMyRide as well as links to the KML files for uploading to your Garmin device. (Please consult online instructions for your particular device, should you choose to load turn-by-turn directions)
If you are receiving this, it is because you are already registered, but there is still time for your friends to register too. We will keep online registration open all the way up until ride morning. We ask that if you choose to register on the morning of the ride, that you come between 6:30 and 8 am, so that we can ensure that we know who is out on course.
Wonder what you are riding to support? Proceeds from the Heart of the Chesapeake Bike Tour will support the Y in two meaningful ways... the Bob Brannock Endowment Fund, designed to ensure that the Y is able to maintain our important commitment to our community in the decades to come, and the Y's Scholarship Fund, which supports the immediate needs of individuals, children and families in our community who need the services and support of the YMCA.
