7:00 am - Suggested Time for 32 Mile Ragged Point Ride

Join us for the Pauline F. & W. David Robbins Family YMCA's Heart of the Chesapeake Bike Tour on Saturday, July 22nd, 2023. The bike tour includes a beautiful  ride from the YMCA to Ragged Point and back (32 miles).

The Heart of the Chesapeake Bike Tour is in memory of Bob Brannock, a member of the Y since its opening in 1985. Upon Bob’s retirement in 2005, after his Parkinson's diagnosis, the Y became his second home. Not only did he use the facilities to help with his Parkinson's he also became our "Bob the Builder." He worked on everything from leaky roofs to full on renovations. There wasn't a room that Bob didn't touch. He continued to work at the Y until his death in July of 2014. Without the Y, Bob wouldn't have been able to follow his doctor's order of just 'Keep Moving!"  Bob's legacy will continue at the Y.

Funds raised will go towards supporting the Robbins Family YMCA to ensure everyone, regardless of age, income or background has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

A t-shirt is included in your registration fee.

Day of registration will be available at the Pauline F. & W. David Robbins Family YMCA. This is a RAIN OR SHINE event and no refunds will be given.

There will be plenty of rest stops along the way with snacks and drinks. SAG vehicles will be monitoring the course until 12PM.

HELMETS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL RIDERS!!! Please adhere to all rules of the road as the course will be open to vehicular traffic.

Weather

First and foremost is the weather. This event is a Rain or Shine event. In the event that we have rain, the ride will continue as planned. Should this rain become more and thunder and lighting is on course, we ask that all riders take the necessary steps to find shelter and wait out any lightning.

This ride is a SHOW-AND-GO, with the suggested time to start at 7am. Remember, if you start earlier than 7am, we cannot guarantee our rest stops will be functional when you get there.
