Who counts toward your five?
Eligible paid registrations completed through your personal referral link by March 12th, 2027. Children’s entries and free registrations do not count.
How it works
- Register for the Shuffle.
Complete your registration and pay your entry fee. After you register, save your personal referral link and the coupon code displayed in RunSignup’s confirmation message.
- Send your link and coupon to friends.
Share by text, email, social media, or group chat. Ask friends to open your personal referral link and apply your coupon at checkout. They should confirm the discount appears before completing registration.
- Reach five eligible signups by March 12th.
Five friends must finish registering through your link by March 12th, 2027. Invitations, link clicks, and promises to attend do not count. Children’s entries and free registrations are excluded.
- Track your progress and earn your refund.
In RunSignup, go to Profile → Runner Links → My Referrals to view registrations credited to your code. Once you reach five eligible referrals, RunSignup automatically processes your registration-fee refund. No separate refund request is needed. The original processing fee is not included.

The 48-hour clock starts when the coupon is generated at your registration.
Two different deadlines: the coupon expires after 48 hours, but you can keep earning eligible referral credit through March 12th, 2027. Friends can still use your referral link after the coupon expires.
Where to find your referral link
- Confirmation email: look for the referral link in the email you received after registering.
- Confirmation page: select Refer Your Friends after completing registration.
- RunSignup account: open Profile, scroll to Runner Links, and select My Referrals. Find your Madison Shamrock Shuffle link.
Copy the entire personal link. The regular race homepage does not identify you as the referrer. Your referral link tracks your credit; the coupon provides your friends’ discount.
A few helpful answers
Do all five friends need to register within 48 hours?
No. The 48-hour limit applies to the 15% discount coupon. You have until March 12th, 2027, to reach five eligible referrals.
What if I cannot find my confirmation email?
Sign in to RunSignup, open Profile, find your registration under Upcoming Events, and select Resend Confirmation. Your referral link is also available under My Referrals.
Someone registered me with a group. How do I get my own link?
Group registrations initially generate a referral code for the first registrant listed. Contact us if you need help getting a code associated with your own registration.
My friend registered, but I did not receive credit. What should I do?
Ask whether they used your personal referral link. If they did not, contact us to request a review. Provide your referral code and, with your friend’s permission, their registration ID and email address. Adding credit after registration requires approval and is not guaranteed.
