ABOUT THE RACE

Join us for the inaugural fundraising race Memorial Ruck & Run 5K! Taking place Memorial Day, this dual 5K experience serves as a solemn tribute to our brave men and women who have sacrificed for us.
In addition to honoring our heroes, a portion of the event's proceeds will be donated to Folds of Honor. They provided essential scholarships to the families of America's fallen or disabled military personnel. The remainder of the proceeds will be allocated to supporting local veterans, ensuring ongoing assistance within our community.
Gather your loved ones and join us as we come together to remember, honor, and support those who have served and sacrificed for our great nation.

Important Information!

There are 3 tiers with 2 events (ruck or run) in each tier to choose from. Please read each tier carefully to ensure you choose the correct tier and event during registration.
Children 8 and younger are free.
This race is none refundable.

Rucking

While not mandatory, we encourage everyone to carry some form of pack, whether it's a rucksack, hiking pack, or backpack. The US military suggests a 35-lb pack for participants, however, feel free to adjust your load to match your fitness level.

Running

Runners will receive a bib number and time tracker. Times will be posted later at this site. This is dependent on whether we have enough runners.

What's a ruck march?

Formally known as a loaded march, a ruck march can be very beneficial to bringing a group together in both a physically and mentally healthy way. The U.S. Army uses a ruck march as a core military skill; challenging recruits to not only finish 12 miles in three (3) hours but to do it with a weighted pack and rifle on their back. Although there is some variation in the weight that is carried, it is typical for rucksacks to be at least 35 pounds and can be as much as 70 pounds. Ruck marches are also used to simulate patrolling while in theater.

Average Pace: What’s a good pace for rucking? While your rucking pace will be determined by a lot of different factors, a good pace is around 11-15 minutes per mile. You can be anywhere within that range, and you’ll be doing well for yourself.
