Description

We have joined forces! The 2025 Rehoboth Run for a Cause event will provide participants an opportunity for runners and walkers to enjoy a competitive, timed, 5k or 10k run, or a non-competitive 1-mile walk in the fresh autumn air, surrounded by the majestic red rocks and beautiful scenery of Rehoboth, NM. The 5k and 10k courses are entirely on dirt trails. (except for the start/finish line) There are also law enforcement and EMS competitions for the 5k, details below. The purpose of this event is for families who have been impacted by drunk driving crashes, to bring awareness to the issue, and also raise money for "June Camp" which is available to all children, grades ____ through ____, from any school for the first 3 weeks of June. ALL MONEY RAISED FROM THIS EVENT WILL STAY IN GALLUP. Half of the money raised will be for the "DWI Memorial Wall Project" (see website) and the other half will be for Rehoboth's "June Camp" program. ______

Law Enforcement/EMS Teams and Traveling Trophy

There will be separate Law Enforcement and EMS competitions for the 5k only, with the winning team taking home the “Traveling Trophy” (Customized UFC Belt!) Teams of 5, all Certified Police Officers or Certified EMS employees from the same agency, (must have at least 2 females on each team) will enter as a team on the website. $20 per person, ($100 per team). The places of the five members of each team will be added up, and the team with the lowest score wins. (Like a cross-country meet)

Last year, a team from the New Mexico State Police office won 1st place (Team members: Everson Cruz, Miko Garcia, Heather Barton, Irvonne Bahe, and Paulena Houston) and took home the Customized UFC Belt! McKinley County Sheriff's Office came in 2nd, Crownpoint Navajo Police were 3rd, and Gallup Police Department was 4th. This year, we are adding the EMS competition. September 13, 2025, is the 2nd Annual Event, and the Traveling Trophy can be “stolen” by another agency. Law enforcement and EMS can also register individually for the 5k, 10k, or 1-mile walk. When registering a team, if you run into any problems or questions, text or call 505-409-1046.
