Description

Running, walking, and biking are great ways we can all stay physically & mentally healthy through these difficult times. Join us as we offer several virtual run and ride options to our community of families and students. All proceeds from the activities will be donated to the Greg W. Sill Foundation, which awards scholarships to students in multiple school districts. Greg Sill was an inspirational teacher at Smithtown High School West who was a positive force in the lives of many. He taught students that “just as ripples spread out when a single pebble is dropped into water, the actions of individuals can have far-reaching effects.”

Because we have had more than a few people state that they missed the registration deadline, we are re-opening registration until Thursday, June 24. However, please understand that we have a limited amount of the Power of a Pebble T-shirts left, and therefore we cannot guarantee a shirt with registration at this time. We will fulfill the requests until the supply runs out. Also, please note that the shirts will not be shipped but a pick-up date and location will be communicated.

Celebrate your effort with a "Finish Selfie."  We encourage all walkers/runners/cyclists to send in their 'Finish Line' picture and a positive affirmation which may be used on the Greg W. Sill Foundation website.  Email photos to powerofapebble@gmail.com

What is a Virtual Run/Walk/Ride?

With the new reality of COVID, this kind of event allows for flexibility in community fitness. Participants who sign up for a virtual Run/Walk/Ride register online and simply choose their own starting and finish line; whether it's on a treadmill, a stationary bike, or a neighborhood street or park.

There are no parking problems, no large crowds, nor are there long Porta-Potty lines.
