Rare Disease Day Virtual 5K

Join us for a Virtual 5K to celebrate Rare Disease Day on February 28. Rare Disease Day is the globally-coordinated, patient-led movement on rare diseases, working towards equity in social opportunity, healthcare, and access to diagnosis and therapies for people living with a rare disease. This event is entirely virtual: simply run a 5K anywhere, any time from now until February 28th to participate! If you're not able to complete a full 5K, feel free to run or walk any distance you'd like. Alternatively, if you don't want to leave the couch but still want to contribute, you can donate according to my time! I'll be running the 5K in Philadelphia on February 27 - some examples of donations are $1 for every minute under 40 minutes I take to finish the 5K, $1 for every minute I take to the finish the 5K, or simply the amount you'd pay for a coffee at Starbucks!

The most important thing is that we as a community are celebrating Rare Disease Day and the 300 million people worldwide (including me!) living with a rare disease.
