Rhode Island Half Marathon & 5K

The Rhode Island Half Marathon and 5K is set for Sunday, May 19th, 2024. Choose from either the half marathon or 5K, which offer some of the best views in Rhode Island, including scenic views of Narragansett Bay and the iconic Providence skyline along the East Bay Bike Path. The Rhode Island half marathon course is USATF certified. 

Due to demand, the Rhode Island Half Marathon will be capped at 2,000 participants. Once the half marathon field is sold out, a waitlist will be opened in the event more slots become available. 

All race half marathon and 5K participants will score a BROOKS RUNNING Podium Race T-shirt as well as a finisher's medal.

RI HALF MARATHON & 5K 
Date: Sunday, May 19th, 2024

Start Times: Half Marathon Start Time: 7:30 a.m. // 5K Start Time: 7:45 a.m.

Start Location: Pierce Memorial Stadium, 201 Mercer St, East Providence, RI 02914

All participants will be chip-timed. Time limit for the half marathon will be four hours and it will be capped at 2,000 participants. Once the field is sold out, a waitlist will be opened in the event more slots become available. 

THE COURSES 

Both USATF-certified and city-approved courses conveniently start and finish at Pierce Memorial Stadium in East Providence, RI. A fast, flat course, the Half Marathon follows Veterans Memorial Parkway before looping back to return on the East Bay Bike Path, which offers stunning views of Narragansett Bay and the Providence Skyline. The course features several points where runners find water on both sides of them, showcasing the impressive beautify of Rhode Island’s more than 400 miles of coastline.

HALF MARATHON PACE GROUPS

The Pacers from the experienced team at Marathon Sports will be leading six groups in the RI Half Marathon. Full details can be found below.

PACE TIMES
We will have pace groups for the following finishing times: 1:45, 2:00, 2:15, 2:30, 2:45, and 3:00.

HOW TO JOIN
Sign up is not required to join a Pace Group. Simply meet your Pace Lead on race morning!

FINDING THE PACERS ON RACE DAY
To meet up with the pacers on race day, head to the start line at least 15 minutes before the start of the race. Your Pacer will be holding up signs with the finishing times printed on them. Five to 10 minutes before the start, your Pace Group Lead will give you their final instructions.

ONLINE ENTRY FEES
Online registration will close on Saturday, May 18th, 2024 at 7pm. BROOKS RUNNING T-shirts for all participants who pre-register. T-shirts are not guaranteed for walk up registrations.

POST-RACE PARTY DETAILS

After the race, it’s time to celebrate! 🍻 We’re thrilled to welcome Crook Point Brewing Company to the Rhode Island Half Marathon & 5K as our Beer Garden hosts. 

Crook Point Brewing Company will be set up at the finish line ready to welcome runners back to Pierce Memorial Stadium with a handful of their delicious beers that are brewed locally in East Providence. Their Brewhouse & Taproom, located at 65 Massasoit Ave, offers a stunning space perfect for a casual Saturday afternoon gathering with friends or private events in their Riverside Room overlooking the Seekonk River. 

In addition to the beer garden, we’ll also have live entertainment and a food truck equipped with delicious post-race eats. The finish line will truly be the start line of this epic post-race party!
