Participant Waiver and Release
In consideration of you accepting this entry, I, the participant, intending to be legally bound, do hereby waive and forever release any and all rights and claims for damages or injuries that I may have against the Event Director, RunSignup.com, and all of their agents assisting with the event, sponsors and their representatives, volunteers, and employees for any and all injuries to me or my personal property. This release includes all injuries and/or damages suffered by me before, during, or after the event. I recognize, intend, and understand that this release is binding on my heirs, executors, administrators, or assignees.

I know that participating in a cycling event is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter and ride unless I am medically able to do so, properly trained, and capable of safely completing the distance for which I have registered.

I understand that this event takes place on public roads that may be open to motor vehicle traffic. The roads are not necessarily closed or controlled for the exclusive use of event participants. I understand that I may encounter motor vehicles, other cyclists, pedestrians, intersections, traffic signals, road hazards, animals, construction, debris, and other conditions normally encountered while cycling on public roads.

I understand that participation in this event does not give me any special right-of-way or exemption from applicable traffic laws. I agree to obey all applicable traffic laws, traffic signals, signs, and instructions from law enforcement, event officials, and event volunteers. I am responsible for riding in a safe and predictable manner and for remaining aware of traffic, other participants, and changing road conditions.

I assume all risks associated with cycling in this event, including, but not limited to: falls; collisions or contact with other cyclists, pedestrians, motor vehicles, animals, or objects; the actions or inactions of motorists or other participants; the effects of weather; traffic; road and course conditions; potholes; loose gravel; debris; mechanical failures; equipment failures; fatigue; and other risks typically associated with cycling on public roads. I waive any and all claims that I might have based on these or other such risks. I acknowledge that these risks are known and understood by me.

Required Safety Equipment
I understand and agree that the following safety equipment is required while participating in this event:

  - A properly fitted bicycle helmet, which must be worn and securely fastened while riding.
  - A working front bicycle light.
  - A working rear bicycle light.

I understand that I am responsible for ensuring that my bicycle and required safety equipment are in safe working condition before beginning the event and remain appropriately maintained throughout the ride. I understand that event officials may prevent me from starting or continuing the event if I do not have the required safety equipment or if my bicycle or equipment presents an apparent safety concern.

I agree to abide by all decisions of any event official relative to my ability to safely participate in or complete the ride. I certify, as a material condition of being permitted to participate in this event, that I am physically fit and sufficiently trained for completion of the event and that a licensed Medical Doctor has verified my physical condition.

In the event of an illness, injury, or medical emergency arising during the event, I hereby authorize and give my consent to the Event Director to secure from any accredited hospital, clinic, and/or physician any treatment deemed necessary for my immediate care. I agree that I will be fully responsible for payment of any and all medical services and treatment rendered to me, including but not limited to medical transport, medications, treatment, and hospitalization.

As it applies to my participation in this cycling event, I agree to abide by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations for the prevention of the spread of COVID-19 and attest to having read the CDC guidance at https://www.cdc.gov. I also agree to abide by any COVID-19 distancing and other safety guidelines issued by the state, community, or this event for my participation.

Further, I grant permission to all the foregoing to use my name, voice, and images of myself in any photographs, motion pictures, results, publications, or any other print, videographic, or electronic recording of this event for legitimate purposes.

This event follows the standard cycling event policy: All entry fees are non-refundable. We reserve the right to postpone or cancel the event due to circumstances beyond our control, such as a natural disaster or emergency, or as required to protect the safety of participants and staff. No refunds will be issued under these circumstances. We reserve the right to change the details of the event without prior notice. I understand that my entry fee is non-refundable and registrations are non-transferable.

By submitting this entry, I acknowledge (or, for all participants under 18 years of age, a parent or adult guardian acknowledges) having read and agreed to the above release and waiver, including the safety requirements and no-refund policy.
