Firecrackerfrolic 5k

The Fircrackerfrolic 5k is held in Easley SC. The race has been run for since 1992 and the Easley Lions Club took over presenting this event 10 years ago. The Easley Lions Club uses the funds raised from this event, minus expenses, to further the Easley Lions Clubs Sight Conservation projects in Easley SC. The monies raised are used in the greater Easley Community to buy glasses for those who are not able to afford them. The club has routinely spent between $2,000 and $4,000 for exams and glasses.

The Club wants this event to be a Family Fun event. We encourage wearing Red, White and Blue and running with or strolling with our US Flag! The race is started with a firecracker!

We give out awards for men and women first through third overall as well as age group awards. We have become famous for our unusual prize drawing after awards and each runner/walker is entered in this drawing. Don't be surprised if you receive a RC Cola or Cheerwine with your award! Some of the prizes we have given in the drawing are a tub of bubble gum, A six pack of Yoohoo Chocolate drink, more RC with Moon Pies, A watermelon... PACKET PICKUP July 3rd at the Easley Academy Sports and Outdoors from 3PM until 7PM..you can register at this time as well...those who register by June 27th get the Race T shirt with the SC Liberty Flag...

Note the race starts at 7:30 AM on July 4th with the pop of a Firecracker! Note also the course isn't closed but intersections at the start will have EPD and turns will have Lions Club members.... Please see course map morning of the race posted at registration and online at the FB Page...In the event of rain the race will still be run...thunder and lightning could delay start...Please see this website in regard to inclement weather... we will run the race despite rain but in the event of thunderstorms we will made a decision based on the safety of the participants. 

Note runners/ walkers since the course isn't a closed course there could be traffic...please stay to the sides of the road and check your surroundings at all times. 

Online registration stops at 3PM on July 3rd. Academy Sports and Outdoors will host registration and packet pickup from 4PM until 7PM on July 3rd. Registration on the morning of the race is from 6:30AM until 7:15AM!
