FAQs
There are two parking lots.
- Lot 1 - Hyak Trailhead lot. All vehicles entering the state park must have a Discover Pass. These are sold onsite (and can be purchased the day of) or online (http://www.discoverpass.wa.gov/). This lot fills up fast.
- Lot 2 - The Summit East Lower Lot, which is a 5min walk to the event. No Discover Pass is required. Parking is complimentary at this location. Using Google Maps search for "Hyak Parking Lot, Snoqualmie Pass, WA 98068." Traveling East or West on I-90 you will take exit 54.
Yes. In addition to the park-provided restrooms, we will have additional porta-potties on site.
In an effort to keep the registration fee approachable, race t-shirts, participation medals, and LED gloves are available as optional add-ons. If you purchase add-ons, you will pick up your items on-site on the day of the event.
If you're unable to make the event, refunds are available until July 8th, 2026. There is a $3.50 fee (per registrant) to cover the credit card processing expenses.
Merch add-ons (T-shirts, gloves, medals) are non-refundable.
Be prepared for extreme darkness and cold temperatures. For this event, LED lights will help illuminate the path, but a personal light is also recommended. The tunnel is chilly; the average temperature (year-round) is ~50 degrees, so we encourage you to wear a long-sleeved shirt or light jacket. The ground is made of compacted gravel.
The course is pretty flat. You will start ~.5 mile outside the tunnel, run/walk approximately one mile in, turn around, and run/walk one mile out, back to the start.
Additional Tunnel details and directions can be found here: Palouse to Cascades Trail - The Tunnel
Flashing lights will be used during the event and may affect those with light sensitivity.
Animals are not allowed in the tunnel due to the number of participants and event conditions (loud music, flashing lights, etc).
To ensure everyone’s safety, we must limit the number of people in the tunnel and adhere to a strict participation cap. On-site registration will only be available if the cap has not been reached by race day. Please note that this event has sold out every year, so early registration is strongly encouraged.
This is very much a fun run.
Wave 1: Runners Only
Must be able to complete a 5K in under 45mins
Wave 2 - Joggers/Walkers/Strollers
No time constraits but the event will conclude around Noon.
Water stations will be available near the check-in area, not throughout the course.
This is a kid-friendly event. Children 4 and under are free (and do not need to register).
