DMAC’s Monster Dash Is A Unique Halloween Fun-Run & Trick-or-Treat Trail at North Lakes Park!
This year’s run will be a timed race. Each participant is required to register, which will include a running bib, themed T-shirt (only for the first 100 registrants), and entry to the costume contest happening before the race. The race itself is slightly over a 5k loop (3.3 miles) around North Lakes Park and passes the trick-or treat trail twice which will be on the existing cement sidewalk that runs along Windsor Drive and is ADA accessible. The $20 kids' special pricing does not include the themed t-shirt.
The key element of the event will be the family friendly Trick or Treat Trail, where participants can stop at various candy stations through the sidewalk path. Maps will be provided of the trail, including candy stops. The Trick or Treat trail is the existing cement sidewalk of North Lakes Park running along Windsor Dr. in Denton, TX. This specific part of the trail is ADA accessible. We’ll also have vendors set up during the event, where you can meet various local artists and businesses. This will take in the playground and picnic area of North Lakes Park.

Race Day: Sunday October 19th
Check In Start Time: 8AM
Costume Contest: 8:45AM
Race Start Time: 9:30AM
Trick or Treat Trail: 11AM - 1PM
Race Location: North Lakes Park, Denton
CHECK IN:
Packet pick up will be during day of check in! First 100 registrants will receive a shirt. A limited number of additional shirts will be available for purchase on-site. Check in will be near the pavilion. Notated on the map with a cross +.
5K MONSTER DASH:
This year's race will be timed by our friends at Chip 2 Chip Race Timing. Results will be posted on our website.

Race Route Instructions
Start/Finish Location Begin at the designated start/finish line near the volleyball court.
First Loop
-Head east along the sidewalk toward the tennis center.
-Enter the trail that passes by the recycling center.
-Continue until the trail exits near the dog park.
-Enter the wooded area of the park, running west.
-Turn near the soccer fields.
-Run south toward the parking area.
-Loop back to the start/finish line.
Second Loop
-From the start line, head up the embankment near the lake.
-Run east again toward the tennis center.
-Turn down and rejoin the paved sidewalk, now heading west.
-Continue back to the start/finish line to complete the course.
TRICK OR TREAT TRAIL:
Don't forget, this is an event for all ages. Bring your kids to walk the Trick or Treat Trail with 6 candy stops along a mile long path! The Trick or Treat Trail runs on the paved sidewalk path along Windsor. Stops notated on the map with a jack o lantern.
COSTUME CONTEST:
Get ready for some fun at our Costume Contest! Whether you're flying solo, wrangling a group theme, or dressing up the kiddos, we’ve got a trophy with your name on it.

And don’t ghost the Photo Booth, it’s your chance to capture those frightfully fabulous looks in style!

Whether you need a pre race snack or a post race breakfast, we've got you covered! There will be several food vendors on site.

The start and finish line will be in the main park area near the playground and volleyball court. Check in and food vendors will all be near the race start line.
