About the Run for the House: This is a family friendly, walk/stroll/run event. We start the day with the USATF Certified 5K and Family Friendly 1 Miler. All participants get a race shirt, medal, swag bag. Post race, join us at Sam Houston Park for the After Party. There will be photo ops with Santa, crafts, games, food and awards.

WHY WE RUN: To support families with children receiving care in the Medical Center for a serious illness or injury. We provide a home away from home for these families.

Join us to support Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Houston! Founded in 1978, the mission of RMHC Greater Houston  is to offer a home away from home providing care, compassion, and hope to families with seriously ill children being treated in Texas Medical Center member institutions. The House provides a place to find rest and respite, activities, meals, and snacks for our families, at no cost.

We serve children and families at four locations:

• Holcombe House - 70 Bedrooms

• Texas Children's Hospital - 19 Bedrooms

• Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital - 20 Bedrooms

• MD Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital - 2 Bedrooms

In addition to our Houses, RMHC Greater Houston also has a CareMobile that goes to local communities to provide immunizations and well checks for school aged children.

• USATF-certified 5K run/walk/roll

• Competitive runners, fun runners and walkers, families with children, and dogs are welcome!

• All registered participants will receive a finisher medal, event t-shirt, and other great SWAG generously donated by our sponsors.

• 100% of the proceeds benefit the children and families of RMHC Greater Houston.

• Up to $50,000 will be generously matched, dollar for dollar, by the Trafigura Foundation!
