Description

Bridging the Gap Ride is an annual cycling event hosted by Motherland Cycling Club (MCC), that aims to bring cyclists of diverse backgrounds and persuasions together for a fun and entertaining ride where participants get to experience different cultures, eat, laugh and dance afterwards--all while also supporting a local charity*. After ride entertainment will feature a DJ, food and games.

Event Give Away - All participants will receive a meal and drink ticket as well as a raffle ticket. A few lucky participants will win several nice gifts including including carbon aero wheels (Handlebar), $1000 gift certificate (Sugar Cycles), smart trainer (Society Cycle Works), helmet (PushinWatts), commemorative kit (PushinWatts), carbon cycling shoes, bike repair tools, massage gift certificates (Katonia Unwind Massage), and additional gift certificates from local bike stores.**  All participants who register before September 15, 2021, will receive a T-Shirt in their size.

Packet Pick Up

We strongly encourage all riders to pick up their packets ahead of the ride. RIDERS WITH BIB NUMBER 333 AND HIGHER MUST PICK UP THEIR PACKET ON EVENT DAY!

Tour Policy

There is no rain date; we ride rain or shine - In case of severe weather or restriction mandated by local, state or federal government agencies, MCC reserves the right to cancel/alter/modify the ride for safety concerns.

In any case, we do not refund entry fees. Please review the waiver - YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR SAFETY AND ACCEPT THE RISKS OF PARTICIPATING IN THIS EVENT.

Safety Rules and Protocols

Please obey all traffic laws. Helmets are required, no headphones. Please ensure your bike is in good working condition. Additional safety instructions will be provided on event day. Please carry your cell phone in waterproof cover and call 911 in case of emergency. Additionally please call the event coordinator. Her telephone number will be provided on event day. 

Covid 19 - Please observe latest CDC Covid-19 guidelines. Hand sanitizers will be available at all rest stops. Disposable face masks will be available at the registration booth. If you have been exposed or are experiencing Covid-19 like symptoms, please do not participate at the event.

Parking

Brazos River park has plenty of parking spaces available. Please plan to arrive early.

Turnaround Location: (Mile 18): 6407 S Peek Rd, Richmond, TX 77407 (Stripes Gas Station). IF YOU ARE DOING THE 55 MILE ROUTE AND YOU ARE NOT AT THIS LOCATION BY 9.15AM, YOU WILL BE RESPECTFULLY ENCOURAGED TO DO THE 35 MILE ROUTE!

*Bike technicians will be stationed at each rest stop for both routes.
