Local Accommodations
Whether you're coming for the weekend or making it a quick overnight trip, there are several lodging options throughout Michigan's Thumb. Because accommodations are spread between Caseville, Port Austin, and Port Crescent and the race takes place after peak vacation season, we recommend booking early. The locations listed below have confirmed they'll be open.
Marathon (Start: Caseville)
The Marathon begins in Caseville. Staying here keeps you close to the shuttle pickup and race start.
Half Marathon (Start: Sleeper State Park)
The Half Marathon begins at Sleeper State Park just outside Caseville. Staying in either Caseville or Port Austin works well.
5K Start & Finish Area (Port Austin)
All races finish in Port Austin, where you'll find restaurants, coffee shops, and additional lodging options.
Local Favorites
Fox's Lodge at Oak Pointe Bed and Breakfast is located in Caseville at 5857 Port Austin Road, Caseville, MI 48725, 2.4 miles from the Marathon start and 2.8 miles from the Half Marathon start. They serve an early breakfast on race day, accommodating the different start times, and honor any dietary restrictions. Enjoy their muffins fresh out of the oven upon arrival! Additionally, Fox's Lodge is open year-round. Enjoy a weekend away in the Thumb and log some miles on the race course ahead of time.
Dark Sky Lodge is located 4.8 miles from the finish line. It's directly on the Marathon and Half race course, so traffic in and out will be limited on race day after 8 am. You will be able to get in and out with the help of race security staff; you'll just have to wait until the course is clear of runners. It's right next to Port Crescent State Park, a great park for a pre- or post-race shakeout run or hike and some dark sky gazing. The Pak restaurant will be closed but the bar will be open.
