Kick off the New Year with the Richmond Road Runners Club’s First Day 5K & 1 Miler! Whether you’re chasing a PR, shaking off the confetti, or just want to log the first miles of the year with your running community, this fun, flat 5K is the perfect way to start 2026.

When you register for the First Day 5K, you’ll get everything you need for a fun, safe, and memorable start to 2026:

EVENT RULES
The minimum age to participate in the First Day 5k is 5 years old on or before race day.
This is a walker, jogger, runner, everything in between friendly. Strollers are allowed, but we ask that you start at the back. Be careful passing and coming up on your fellow participants.
There is a two (2) hour time limit to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
CANCELLATION POLICY
All entry fees and processing fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. NO EXCEPTIONS. Registrations CANNOT be deferred to the next year. Registrations can only be transferred to another runner via the wait list after the race has sold out. If we catch you transferring a bib to another runner without permission, you will be banned. In the event of postponements, cancellation, format update, event updates, and/or if you are unable to participate for any reason there will be no refunds, transfers (to another race or person), and/or deferrals.
