MTB Enduro: May 21 @ 10 AM

The James River Park trails will give local mountain bikers and visiting riders alike a chance to test their skills. The rock gardens, short steep climbs, creek crossings, fast downhills, and twisty single-track trails are both technically challenging and physically demanding. Riders will complete stages at Dogwood Dell, Forest Hill Park, and Belle Isle for a total of 6-8 timed miles. The transition stages (the riding required to get from one stage to the next) are not timed and do not count toward standings. Pedal hard when it counts and take it easy on the in-betweens.

You must start at Dogwood Dell and start any time between 10 AM-12 PM. You must also complete each trail loop in the order of Dogwood Dell to Forest Hill Park to Belle Isle. All racers must be finished in the Belle Isle parking lot by 3 PM.

Dominion Energy Riverrock, organized by Richmond non-profits Sports Backers & Venture Richmond, began in 2009 & is now the nation's premier outdoor sports & lifestyle festival, bringing athletes, spectators, musicians, & even dogs to Brown’s Island & Historic Tredegar for a three-day festival against the backdrop of downtown Richmond’s urban riverfront. The festival was designed to promote Richmond’s unique riverfront, downtown trails & whitewater rapids to outdoor enthusiasts. As a result of the creation of Dominion Riverrock, there is a stronger appreciation for the value of outdoor recreation throughout the entire Richmond region.

Help Us Maintain Our World Class Trail System

The James River Park System & the Richmond Riverfront is an extremely important asset to Richmond. Please consider a donation to benefit the James River Park System & Richmond Riverfront. Your gift will help maintain, improve & enhance the James River Park System trails & riverfront. This nationally acclaimed trail system would not be what it is today without the hard work of countless volunteers throughout the year & it is donations like yours that make this work possible. In 2021 Dominion Energy Riverrock donations were able to support not only general trail maintenance through RVA More’s tireless efforts but also specifically made possible the replacement of two ramps throughout the trails in the James River Park System – one in Powhite Park and on at Huguenot Flatwater. Through the pandemic the James River Park System and riverfront has seen record use so donations to maintain and improve this critical RVA asset are as important as ever.
