The First Aid Station Volunteer will provide basic first aid support during the event and assist with minor medical needs that may arise. Volunteers must be currently certified in First Aid and CPR and be familiar with the operation of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Responsibilities include monitoring the First Aid area, responding to minor injuries or health concerns, documenting incidents if required, and contacting Emergency Medical Services (EMS) if a situation requires advanced care. Volunteers will work closely with event staff to ensure participant safety and coordinate emergency response if needed.
Preferred qualifications include individuals with medical or safety training such as:
Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic
Certified Lifeguard
Athletic Trainer or Sports Medicine professional
Medical Assistant
Firefighter or public safety personnel
Wilderness First Responder / Wilderness First Aid certified
Red Cross First Aid or community emergency response training (CERT)
First Aid Station Volunteers will only provide care within the scope of their training and certification and will not perform advanced medical procedures beyond their qualifications. In the event of a serious injury or medical emergency, volunteers will immediately activate 911 and notify event leadership.
