Lead Course Marshal

Course Marshal - 1 High Priority

You must be 18-85 years old to volunteer for this task.

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

Course marshals are stationed at key locations along that course to warn riders of hazards, direct riders along the course, monitor for course and rider safety, ensure fair play, motivate the athletes, and manage non-race traffic at points where race course crosses another route.

At the end of their assignment, course marshals are asked to assist with removing course marking materials and transport them to the start/finish line.

Marshals shall not leave their post until instructed to do so by lead course marshal or race director or relieved by another course marshal.

Course marshals will be provided instructions, a course map, and any special equipment required for their assigned position (safety vest, etc.).

Volunteers should bring water, a pen and paper, bug spray/sunscreen, and an enthusiastic and polite attitude. If you are certified in first aid, a small first aid kit is advised as well; one will be available from the lead course marshal if needed.
