Road Painting Leader

Details

This job is to lead the effort to mark the roads for Amishland. The total effort for this task is about 12 hours. The primary elements of this task are:

1) Plan & prepare for road painting.

2) Lead painting teams on assigned Saturday (two weeks before the ride) or the rain day, usually the next day on Sunday

3) Lead road mark checking team, usually the Wednesday before the ride.

4) Address any issues with road marks on Friday before the ride.

Details

This job is to mark the roads with the ALL Dan Henry. We will send out 5 crews. In addition to painting Dan Henrys the teams will also sweep the roads clear of sand and gravel that could pose a risk to tour riders. We will start painting at 8:00 am. Rain date is the next day (Sunday). Let John know if you are not available for the rain date.

Location

We will meet at Lakeland HS in Lagrange, IN at 7:45 am. It will take 5-6 hours to do all of the painting. Once the crews are assigned, the 2-person crew can choose to carpool over to LaGrange.

Pickup U-Haul's from U-Haul Place and Load U-Haul's, Thursday

Details

Please do not sign up for this task unless you have consulted with John Marino (this is so that we can coordinate movement of vehicles). This job is to pick up three U-Haul's at 605 N Hickory Rd., South Bend, IN 46615 around 4 pm. John will pick you up and take you to the U-Haul place. We are going straight from the U-Haul place to the storage locker at 29813 US-12, Niles, MI 49120. You do not need a CDL to drive the U-Haul. After the U-Haul's are loaded the drivers who will drive them to LaGrange on Friday will take them home. Specific assignments and times will be made once we work out our U-Haul movement plan.

Setup and clean showers. There may be other setup tasks. It will take 4-6 hours for this job depending on the size of the team.

Need to help riders with problems on course. This could include taking them and their bike to the Fairgrounds. You do not need to know how to fix bike. At various time you will need to sweep section of the route for no rides and then remove signs and let the SAG stop know when route is clear.
