Pre-Race Support: Help with Packet Pick-ups, Highland Rec. Center, 1451 8th St. Dr. NE, Hickory
Packet Pickup Party, by handing out bibs, hoodies, and runner bags at City Walk Brewery, 205 Main Ave NE Ste C, Hickory, NC 2860

Start Line Help: Direct participants, assist with gear check, or help manage staging areas.

Course and Station Support: Fill in where needed, help set up or supply water and aid stations, and direct foot traffic.

Finish Line Operations: Hand out finisher medals, distribute post-race food and water, and guide finishers through the recovery area.

Event Breakdown: Assist staff with packing up equipment, cleaning the site, and returning the venue to normal

Course Marshall High Priority

Course Marshalls:
Guide Participants: Positioned at key turns, intersections, and checkpoints to point runners in the correct direction and prevent anyone from getting lost.

Assist in Emergencies: Monitoring the route for distressed or injured participants and quickly contacting medical staff or race directors when help is needed.

Provide Encouragement: Cheering loudly, clapping, and motivating exhausted runners as they pass by to give them a mental and physical boost.

Manage Traffic and Safety: Stopping or slowing down vehicle and pedestrian traffic, setting up safety cones or barriers, and warning runners about road hazards like speed bumps.

Aid Station Helper High Priority

Details

Hydration and Fuel: Refill water bottles, hydration packs, and cups with water or sports drinks. Restock and hand out snacks like fruit, energy gels, pretzels, candy, and sandwiches.

Runner Tracking: Record runner bib numbers and arrival/departure times on clipboards or digital devices to monitor race progress.

Logistical Support: Help runners locate personal drop bags, manage waste disposal, and assist crew members in the area.

Morale and Safety: Cheer loudly, offer motivational support, and watch for signs of physical distress or medical emergencies to report to race officials.
