Details

This VERY fun job involves waiting at the top of the ridge to celebrate as cyclists achieve the summit. For a peaceful time you'll have the stunning summit of Hurricane Ridge all to yourselves, until the cyclists start to arrive and the fun begins. Feel free to whistle, cheer, or bring bells.

Directions: Drive up to the top of Hurricane Ridge Road and look for the white canopy at the entrance to the parking lot. Park anywhere (and let us know if you'd like to carpool).

Your vehicle must be parked by 7 am. Check in at the canopy with Kay Clark to get your volunteer tee-shirt. Bring a chair, and we’ll provide a canopy for cover. If you know someone in the ride, keep an eye out so you can cheer when they achieve the summit!

You're welcome to enjoy water and snacks from the Summit Aid Station, but you may want to bring snacks for yourselves as well.

We try to create an oasis with each aid station for cyclists to rest, refuel, and socialize, so these volunteers are among the most important of the ride. These are the hype people for the riders, and the encouragement and inspiration they provide are just as important as the food and snacks. Helping at an aid station along the route involves preparing and handing out snacks, water, Gatorade, and band aids, with the friendly and positive vibe that we want for Ride the Hurricane.

Help at Summit Aid Station, direct cyclists to photo spot and bike mechanic, play great music on the Bluetooth speaker, and help create the feeling of celebration at the top for all the cyclists who made the climb.

Details

Join us on city pier and help as the cyclists arrive for beer and tacos! Set up and take down tables and chairs, monitor beer garden entrance, cheer at the finish line, help pass out checked gear, and help make the After Party a true celebration! These volunteers will rotate so that nobody stays in the same place for long.
