The 'Sounds of Sarah, We Fight Together Drug Poisoning/Overdose 3k Walk/Run unites our community for a critically important cause that impacts countless lives. In America, drug poisoning is the leading cause of death among individuals aged 18-45, highlighting the urgent call to action for the expansion of life-saving support services, particularly in our communities. Notably, Lake County, Indiana ranks as the state's second-highest county drug poisoning/overdose fatalities. Your support empowers us to further educate our youth and community about drug poisoning, addiction, drug use, and the perils of the opioid crisis, emphasizing the stark reality that just one pill can be lethal.
The primary aim of the 1st Annual We Fight Together Walk/Run is to elevate awareness of the epidemic and crisis claiming numerous lives, while also working to diminish the associated stigma. In 2023, more than 112,000 deaths in the United States were attributed to drug poisoning/overdose, translating to roughly one fatality every 5 minutes, or 300 lives lost daily. By supporting us as a sponsor, you'll be instrumental in amplifying awareness and tearing down stigma barriers, thereby offering individuals and families the essential support and a safe haven they desperately need.
Sounds of Sarah Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a variety of prevention, education and public services, that focus on the dangers of illicit fentanyl, illicit drugs and addictions. Our mission is to raise awareness to the nationwide opioid epidemic, provide prevention services and ensure the public has access to the necessary information and resources to save lives. Money raised will support Sounds of Sarah Inc., programs and services.
