1.8 Mile Swim
Race Start Time: 4pm
Race starts at White Lake Marina
Race finishes at Goldston's Beach
Participants will be transported from Goldston's Beach to the start - via Goldston's Beach trolley
Trolley will depart from the front entrance of Goldtson's Beach at 3:45pm
Race Logistics:
We will be using a water safety armada that will be moving along with the swim pack.
Our water safety crew will consist of lifeguards, along with volunteers with kayaks and/or paddle boards. We will also have a minimum of 3 boats.
We will have a pontoon boat that will lead the way across the lake. This boat will have a 10' high "wiggly man", and will also be towing an orange buoy.
This lead boat will stay 50- 100 meters in front of the lead swimmer.
As the swim pack thins out along the way, water safety resources will spread out from the lead swimmer to the last swimmer.
Two kayakers will also tow orange buoys and will spread out along the course to provide sighting for all swimmers.
Start Procedure:
This will be an individual time-trial start.
Participants will be jumping off the dock at the marina to start the race.
Participants will start every 3-5 seconds.
Participants may line up in whatever order they want to start the race - we'd like everyone self-seed at the marina.
We suggest that faster swimmers line up in front and slower swimmers in the back.
