FAQs

PARTICIPANT FAQ'S
Q: Where is the in-person race being held this year?
A: This year the race will kick off at 8am at the MoDOT Transportation Management Center at 14301 S Outer Forty Rd, Chesterfield, MO 63017.

Q: What if I can't make it on race day?  Is there a virtual option?
A: We are offering a "Virtual Race Participant" registration that serves as our virtual option.  Participants will receive our t-shirt just like all the other runners.  You can get a group together to run or walk, run your own race, or cheer everyone on from your couch!  Please note: Virtual Race Participants will not report their run times or be eligible for awards.

Q: What do I get for participating?
A: All participants get a custom short sleeve moisture wicking t-shirt!

Q: When do I receive my t-shirt? -or- When is packet pickup?
A: Packets can be picked up at the MoDOT Transportation Management Center at 14301 S Outer Forty Rd. in Chesterfield the day before the race (Friday from 3-6pm) or on Race Day (Saturday).

Q: Where do my participation fees go?
A: After expenses are paid (t-shirt, shipping, etc.) all proceeds are invested back into the race or donated to charity.  We do not profit from this event - we keep our price as low as possible to keep the race as accessible as possible.  Our sole mission is to spread Work Zone Awareness and help save lives!  In the past we have donated to the 10-33 Benevolent Fund, whose mission is providing direct cash assistance to families of state workers who lose their lives in the line of duty.

Q: Are you a non-profit organization?
A: We are officially an affiliate member of the Road Runners Club of America! As a Non-Profit Event member, we are recognized as a nonprofit through the RRCA nonprofit group exemption with the IRS. We are fully insured and have agreed to follow the RRCA's guidelines to help ensure runner safety and inclusion.  Nonprofit events must have a set of governing bylaws and an independent board of directors (non-related parties) with a minimum of 3 board members that are elected at least every two years.

Q: What activities are there for me to participate in?
A: On race day, there will be a timed 5k run, as well as a 1 mile fun run (or walk!).  You can choose to support the race from afar and get our SWAG mailed to you as well!

Q: Who organizes this race?
A: Our organization consists of volunteers from several local public agencies (MoDOT, St. Louis County, Missouri State Highway Patrol), engineering consultants, and contractors based in St. Louis, MO.  We are united in our commitment to safety for the traveling public, workers, and first responders on our roadways.
