Sadly this fundraiser has taken a back seat to all the hurt and pain that has risen in the world and now the fire in our community. So many lives have been affected. I have witnessed so many people reaching out to help each other during these trying times. Such compassion.
We are still doing a ride and adventure just not as long so as to keep everyone safe. Any donation would be greatly appreciated for it is for a good cause,
Originally before March 2020 I was so excited and looking forward to be participating in my second Most Excellent Adventure. It is so much more than an Excellent Adventure, it is an epic and amazing adventure. I met so many wonderful people last year that had all joined together for a very heartfelt cause.
Now I am looking forward to the ride because it is something I can do to help, to share compassion and hope.
My dog Hazel and I would like to thank everyone that donated to the fundraiser last year. Once again I am asking for donations for a very good cause. Any amount would be greatly appreciated.
I'll be riding 100k on my bike with the Santa Cruz Sunrise Rotary Charity Bike Ride to make a difference for the youth in our community! Santa Cruz Sunrise Rotary has a long history of supporting youth organizations with this ride, and I’m joining in to do my part.
This year the ride recipients are Jacob's Heart Children's Cancer Support Services, the Santa Cruz Sunrise Rotary High School Scholarship program (providing 2 and 4-year college scholarship) and the Charities and Grants program (providing grants to local youth athletic and arts organizations).
For those of you who don’t know about Jacob's Heart – I urge you to visit their website http://www.JacobsHeart.org. But the summary is that Jacob's Heart exists to improve the quality of life for children with cancer and to support their families in the challenges they face. They provide family-centered care that addresses the emotional, practical and financial struggles for families of children and teens during treatment, families experiencing anticipatory grief and those who are bereaved.
I've committed to fundraiser a minimum of $100 with a personal goal of $500! I got off to a late start. So please consider sponsoring me for this ride. With an all-volunteer crew 100% of the proceeds go to the charities, and it’s all tax deductible as Santa Cruz Sunrise Rotary is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit.
Donations by cash or check can be mailed as follows:
Checks should be made out to "Sunrise Rotary Foundation" and mailed to the following address:
