Event Day Timeline

SATURDAY START TIMES & EVENT TIMELINE:

  • 45 Mile Ride - 8:00 AM Start
  • 45 Mile Ride - 8:30 AM Start
  • 30 Mile Ride - 9:00 AM Start
  • 30 Mile Ride - 9:30 AM Start
  • 15 Mile Ride - 10:00 AM Start
  • After Party Begins - 11:15 AM (beer service starts)
  • Raffle Drawing - 1:20 PM
  • END OF EVENT - 2:00 PM (beer service ends)

 

WHY ARE THERE DIFFERENT START TIMES:

We have multiple start times for each distance (besides the 15-mile ride), for a few reasons

  • Provide registrants the flexibility to take either the early or late start time for each distance.
  • Space riders out on course, so we do not interfere too heavily in local, regular traffic patterns. 
  • Stay within capacity limitations for the brewery space, as well as local and municipal requirements.
  • Finally, give our staff and volunteers the ability to check in riders in a timely fashion and not get overrun with too many participants at once. 

 

MORNING ARRIVAL:

  • Please arrive 30 minutes before your designated start time to allow for plenty of time to park and check in. Check your confirmation email or log in to your account HERE to see which distance and start time you selected.
  • For capacity and permitting reasons, we check in one start time at a time. If you are more than a half-hour early to the check-in tent, you will not be checked in until the next ride goes off. We appreciate your patience with our volunteers. As you wait, please enjoy some morning snacks, pastries, and hot coffee.
  • Limited Capacity Event - Please arrive planning to ride in the event time slot that you registered for. We have time slots for many reasons, including safety, permitting, and other capacity considerations.

 

DO NOT FORGET:

  • HYDRATION STARTS IN THE DAYS LEADING UP TO EVENT DAY
  • PHOTO ID (bring with you in the morning for registration)
  • Must wear a HELMET to ride
  • Water bottle for hydration (We'll have plenty of water for refilling in the morning, rest stops, and post-ride)
  • Sunscreen
  • Bright colored clothing for maximum visibility
  • Change of shoes/clothes for the post-ride party
  • Feel free to bring lawn/beach chairs for guaranteed seating in the post-ride party
  • CASH or CREDIT CARD for post-ride merch! Our shirts are really fun! You won't want to miss out!
  • If you want guaranteed seating in the post-ride party, feel free to bring a beach/lawn chair.
  • No bike trailers or children under the age of 16 permitted to ride in this event
  • This event is a private party closed to the public. If you have friends & family coming to the post-ride party, please inform them to buy a post-ride entry ticket.

 

MORNING CHECK-IN:

  • PHOTO ID required to check in.
  • There will be multiple lines to check in/register.
  • At check-in, you'll be given a wristband and bike plate with a unique number for photographer identification. We'll have (3) professional photographers taking photos throughout the event. Your bike plate number is how you'll find these photos later! Please secure the bike plate to the front of your bike with the zip ties given to you (SEE EXAMPLE IMAGE BELOW).
    • Bike plate is mandatory, mounted to the handlebar or head tube, so course marshals, photographers, and volunteers can distinguish participants.
    • Your event photos will be available for purchase on the Monday after the event. KEEP YOUR BIKE PLATE so you have the number to identify your photos with our partnering photography company.
  • Complimentary Pastries, Snacks, and COFFEE while you wait for your ride to begin.
  • Questions about the route? Make your way to our route information tent for a physical cue sheet and instructions on how to download the turn-by-turn route instructions on the Ride With GPS app.

 

THE RIDE:

SAVE THE SAG SUPPORT PHONE NUMBER WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU IN PRE-RIDE EMAILS.

  • We'll begin the rides in half-hour intervals (the start time you registered for). In addition to the Ride with GPS turn-by-turn instructions, all routes are marked on the pavement.
    • Route markings on the road are color coordinated depending on which distance you're riding. The ride director will explain the route arrows before each ride goes off!
      • 15, 30, and 45-mile rides generally have rest stops unless otherwise stated in pre-ride emails. 
      • RSVP to the event on the Ride With GPS app for the rest stop locations.
      • A few bike pumps, as well as a basic patch kit and small tools, will be available for small fixes. If you have a larger issue, please contact SAG support. The rest stop will also have a medical kit (non-serious injury) and portable toilets for participants to use. 
      • This is your reminder to bring any extra tubes or repair kits for your bike. Sometimes the SAG wagon will not have your specific tube size, so it's good to bring your own if you have it!
  • Each ride's start time and distance are designed so that the average rider's pace returns to the brewery post-ride party from 11:30 - 12:30 PM. There is no time limit. It is ok if you come back later, just be aware that the charity raffle drawing is at 1:20 PM. If you finish after 1:20 PM, we are sorry, but we cannot hold up the raffle drawing any longer due to a large majority of riders already finishing and waiting.

 

About SAG/Mechanical Support and What to Expect:

Pre-Ride Support

After checking in, visit the SUPPORTING BIKE SHOP teams at their tent in the event space for quick, pre-ride mechanical checks. They can help with minor issues like lubing your chain, making small adjustments, and performing safety checks.

Please do not expect them to provide time-consuming or expensive services like providing or installing new bike parts. We recommend taking care of any major maintenance needs before event day by visiting shops like Stone Harbor Bike & Beach Shop in advance. The on-site mechanics will need to work quickly to help as many riders as possible before the start of each ride.

During the Ride

  • For a mechanical issue: If you have a bike issue during the ride, text the SAG SUPPORT phone number your location & issue. The SAG team will do their best to get you back on the road. For the best chance of success, remember to bring your own spare parts, tubes, and tools.

  • For a medical emergency: IMMEDIATELY CALL 911. The SAG team is not equipped to handle medical emergencies.

  • Physical limitations: SAG support is prioritized for mechanical issues. While we will do our best to help, we cannot guarantee transportation back to the brewery for riders who cannot finish due to physical limitations. If you have a serious medical issue, you should call for an ambulance. 

  • Please be smart: Know your limits, and prepare appropriately by hydrating in the days leading up to the event and checking your bike for safety issues before arriving.

 

AFTER PARTY:

  • The FINISH LINE is in the same place as the ride started. Arrive back under the Bikes & Beers banner and be ready to pose for your best FINISHING PHOTO!
    • Then, please make way for the riders finishing behind you.
  • We will have bike parking at the brewery. However, if you drove to the event and parked close, please rack your bike back on your vehicle to create as much space in the event area as possible.
  • After arriving back at the brewery, use the tab attached to your wristband to pick up your pint glass under the Bikes & Beers tent. You'll see signage stating "PINT GLASS PICK-UP"
  • Also attached to your wristband are tabs to redeem (2) REWARDING BEERS!
    • The host brewery will have beer redemption tents set up in the event space!
    • The host brewery will have some non-alcoholic options available in its taprooms. Also, check the Bikes & Beers merchandise tent for some additional options. 
  • Don't forget to bring your wallet for post-ride food offered by multiple food trucks.
  • If you arrive back at the brewery before the after-party is set up for beer service, please be patient. We will be working our fastest to change over the event from registration to the post-ride party! The after-party officially begins @ 11:15 AM.

 

PRIZE RAFFLE:

  • Every participant gets (1) raffle ticket included in their pint glass. FOR MORE CHANCES TO WIN, more tickets are available for purchase with proceeds benefiting our charity partners: The raffle will be drawn at 1:20 PM. You have to be present to win the raffle prizes, including A TUESDAY BEACH CRUISER (Valued at $500+), 4 FREE B&B RIDES, BREWERY GEAR, CAR BIKE RACK, BIKE LIGHTS, BIKE LOCK, SPONSOR GIVEAWAYS, and much more!
    • Why is the Raffle at 1:20 PM? Some riders finish early, and some riders finish later. 1:20 PM is the sweet spot for almost all riders to have a chance to finish and enjoy the post-ride party before raffle time. If you finish very early and do not want to stick around for the raffle, please also understand that there are a few riders who finish late and might miss the raffle. With the experience of over a hundred events, we do our best to accommodate the large majority of riders who want the raffle drawing at 1:20 PM. 

 

MERCHANDISE TENT:

  • T-shirts, jerseys, shorts, tanks, hats, socks, etc. will be available for purchase at the post-ride party.
  • We have a credit card reader, but as a small business, we prefer cash purchases for the speed/cost of transactions. There is a $25 minimum for credit card purchases. Please remember to bring cash.
  • Commemorate the ride and celebrate your accomplishments with one of our fun t-shirts or cycling jerseys!

 

PRE-ORDER MERCHANDISE:

  1. Pick up your pre-ordered merchandise at the event after-party at our merchandise tent! You can check to see if you have pre-ordered merch by logging into your account HERE
  2. In your account, you still have time to add-on purchases to ensure your correct size is available for post-ride pick-up!

    Each item is $5 OFF when you pre-order online.
