Casual Crank
Want to experience Caloosa Crank Fest without racing the clock? The Casual Crank is an untimed, non-competitive option for riders who want to take on the course at their own pace and enjoy the event without the pressure of racing.
Casual Crank riders will head out after the competitive categories have finished. No timing, no podiums, no pressure — just a chance to ride the course, challenge yourself, and be part of the Crank Fest experience.

Novice
New to racing or looking for a more approachable Crank Fest experience? Novice is intended for beginner-level riders and those getting their first taste of mountain bike racing.
Novice riders will race Stages 1 and 3. Each stage is timed separately, and the two times are combined for the final result. Stage 2 is the event’s advanced technical trail and is reserved for the more experienced competitive categories. You’ll still get the full stage-race experience—just without the most technical portion of the course.

Adaptive MTB
We’re excited to welcome adaptive riders who want to race the clock with a dedicated timed Adaptive Mountain Bike (aMTB) category. This is the competitive option for adaptive riders; those who would rather enjoy the course without timing can register for Casual Crank.
aMTB riders will race Stages 1 and 3, with each stage timed separately and the two times combined for the final result. Stage 2 is the event’s advanced technical trail and is not included in the aMTB course.
This category welcomes handcycles, adaptive trikes, and other purpose-built or modified off-road cycles. Because every adaptive rig is a little different, we may follow up after registration for a photo or short video to help confirm course fit, plan staging, and make race day run smoothly.
