Event Description
Caloosa Crank Fest is back! Whether you're lining up for your first MTB event, chasing a podium, testing yourself against the clock, or just looking for a different way to experience the trails at Caloosahatchee Regional Park, there's a way to ride Crank Fest.
Caloosa Crank Fest turns the trails of Caloosahatchee Regional Park into a multi-stage MTB time trial that blends XC speed with enduro-style strategy. Competitive riders race the clock one rider at a time through timed stages, recover during untimed transitions, then line up and do it all over again.
Casual Crank provides an untimed, non-competitive way to experience the event with access to the full three-stage course. Novice and Adaptive MTB racers take on a two-stage timed course that bypasses the advanced terrain of Far East, while Sport, Elite, and Class 1 eMTB racers complete all three timed stages.
This isn't a mass-start sufferfest and it isn't just another lap race. Pick your lines, manage your effort, ride within your ability, and see how your combined stage times stack up when the dust settles.
Whether you're trying something new, racing your riding buddies, pushing for a podium, or just coming out to be part of the action, Caloosa Crank Fest is your chance to experience CRP a little differently.

Race Policies & Participant Responsibility
By registering for Caloosa Crank Fest, participants acknowledge the inherent risks associated with mountain biking and agree to follow all event rules, course markings, instructions from race officials, and applicable park regulations. Participation is also subject to the event waiver and release presented during registration.
Competitive riders are responsible for reporting to and completing each required stage within the event's published operating window. Untimed transitions between stages are not part of a rider's official race time. Riders who miss a required stage, leave the marked course, or are unable to safely continue may be removed from competition at the discretion of race officials.
All participants are responsible for selecting a category and route appropriate for their experience, equipment, and riding ability. Riders should ride within their individual limits at all times.
Race officials reserve the right to modify, delay, shorten, reroute, or cancel portions of the event when necessary for rider safety, trail conditions, weather, or other circumstances beyond the organizers' control.
GPS & Course Compliance
Official race results are determined solely by the event's timing system. GPS activity data is not used for official timing; however, race officials may review data from Garmin, Wahoo, Strava, or similar platforms to verify course compliance, equipment eligibility, or resolve a disputed result.
Podium Verification
- Riders qualifying for a podium position must be able to provide a complete GPS activity covering all applicable race stages when requested.
- For standard MTB and Class 1 eMTB categories, GPS activity submitted for podium verification must include data recorded with a wheel-speed sensor.
- Adaptive MTB verification requirements may account for differences in adaptive bike equipment and sensor compatibility.
- GPS data is used for verification only and does not replace the event's official timing system.
- Failure to provide required verification data when requested may result in loss of podium eligibility.
Course Compliance
- Competitive riders must follow the complete marked course for every timed stage required by their registered category.
- Cutting the course, bypassing required trail sections, or otherwise gaining an advantage by leaving the designated route may result in a time penalty or disqualification.
- Novice and Adaptive MTB racers complete the designated two-stage course and bypass Far East.
- Sport, Elite, and Class 1 eMTB racers complete all three timed stages, including Far East.
- Casual Crank participants are untimed and may choose to ride or bypass Stage 2 / Far East.
Adaptive MTB (aMTB)
Adaptive MTB riders will compete on the same two-stage course used by the Novice field, bypassing the advanced terrain of Far East. The route has been successfully ridden on an adaptive MTB and includes a mix of flowing and technical trail.
Some narrow sections may require careful line choice and navigation. Because adaptive bike designs, dimensions, and rider needs can vary, riders who would like to evaluate the course before registering are encouraged to contact event staff. We're happy to help coordinate a pre-event course preview and answer questions about the route.
Adaptive MTB riders will compete in separate Male and Female categories with official timing, results, awards, and podium placement.
Class 1 eMTB Requirements
Caloosa Crank Fest permits Class 1 eMTBs only, consistent with the Class 1 electric bicycle definition established by Florida Statutes § 316.003(23) and § 316.003(23)(a).
- Electric motor must be rated at less than 750 watts.
- Motor assistance may be provided only while the rider is pedaling.
- Motor assistance must cease at 20 mph.
- Class 2 and Class 3 e-bikes are not permitted.
- Throttle-equipped, derestricted, chipped, jailbroken, or otherwise modified bicycles that provide motor assistance outside Class 1 limits are not permitted.
- Multi-class or configurable eMTBs must remain configured to meet Class 1 requirements for the duration of the event.
- Race officials reserve the right to inspect an eMTB or review ride data when necessary to verify compliance.
- Use of a non-compliant eMTB may result in disqualification or loss of podium eligibility at the discretion of race officials.
