Join us on June 3, 2023 in Sioux Center, Iowa for the 3rd Annual Gear Up For Summer Bike Ride. This ride was formerly known as the "WOW" ride.
The Sioux Center Trails Council is excited to host this event partnering with our sponsor Entegro Health for the 3rd year. All of the proceeds and donations will go towards purchasing bike aid stations along the expanding trail system in Sioux Center. See the pictures of the 2 stations we have purchased so far!
The event will start at Children's Park with staggered times based on the ride distance. The rides will have a rolling 1 hour start, however, lunch starts at 11! Plan your start time based on your pace and weather!
New for this year - We are joining forces with the trail run One Ear Deer Dash at Oak Grove for THE GROVER COASTER DUATHLON! Click HERE to view the course and location for the One Ear Deer Dash. You will be able to choose from a challenging 60 mile road course or a 30 mile gravel for a true off-road Duathlon. The run will be approximately half way through the bike miles and you choose the run distance of 3.5 or 7.5 miles. You will be allowed one drop bag for your running gear. This will be delivered out to the trail race and placed on a tarp near the registration table. When you are done running, place all items back in gear bag. They will be brought back to Children’s Park. YOU WILL REGISTER ON THIS RACE SITE FOR THE DUATHLON,
The Steamroller or 60 miler (road) will start at 7-8AM.
The Warrior Ride or 30 miler (road) will start at 8-9AM.
The Gravel Grinder to Rock Valley, a 30 miler (gravel) will start at 8-9AM.
The Family Fun Ride (paved bike trail) will start at 10:00AM.
ROAD DUATHLON 6-630 AM (approximately 30 miles to trail run site)
OFF ROAD DUATHLON - 7-730 AM (approximately 15 miles to trail run site)
7.5 mile trail race starts at 9:00
3.5 mile trail race starts at 9:30
Steamroller (60 mile road course) + One Ear Deer Dash (trail run 3.5 or 7.5 miles)
Off-Road (30 mile gravel to Oak Grove) + One Ear Deer Dash (trail run 3.5 or 7.5 miles)
Key Stations: Rock Valley: Hegg Memorial Health Center, Hawarden: Freedom Rock , Oak Grove Park
Registration includes race swag, extra goodies, aid stations with water and performance drinks, snacks, SAG vehicle, lunch and FREE ADMISSION TO SIOUXNAMI Water Park. Extra lunch tickets may be purchased for friends and family not riding. General admission at Siouxnami can be purchased at the All Seasons Center.
