OUR STORY
The Griffin Leukemia Foundation, Inc. was created from lived experience.
Founder Jake Griffin is a two-time leukemia survivor and stem cell transplant recipient. His journey through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery revealed a truth that many patients and families experience but rarely talk about openly. Survival is not the end of the story. Life after treatment brings its own challenges, physical, emotional, and mental, that can feel just as overwhelming as the diagnosis itself.
During treatment, support is often visible and immediate. After treatment ends, many patients and survivors are left navigating recovery, identity, and purpose on their own. The Griffin Leukemia Foundation, Inc. exists to help bridge that gap, supporting both current leukemia patients and survivors as they rebuild strength, confidence, and direction.
The Foundation’s mission is rooted in action. Through community events like the Pulse Walk, partnerships with other cancer and survivor-focused organizations, and future programs developed under the Griffin Leukemia Foundation, Inc., we aim to provide tangible opportunities for healing, connection, and growth.
One of the Foundation’s first initiatives is the Pulse Walk: Penny Per Step Challenge, a community 5K designed to unite people around a shared cause while creating measurable impact.
While the Foundation began with one survivor’s story, its purpose extends far beyond any single individual. The Griffin Leukemia Foundation, Inc. is committed to building a sustainable platform that brings together patients, survivors, families, volunteers, sponsors, and partners who believe in supporting life beyond diagnosis.
Our work is just beginning. Together, we are creating space for hope, action, and the next chapter after leukemia.
