Together, we climb higher.
MOUNT KILIMANJARO 2026
In July 2026, leukemia survivor Jake Griffin will climb Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest mountain at 19,341 feet, to mark 10 years cancer-free and to raise awareness and funding for cancer survivorship.
This trek is more than a personal milestone. It is the foundation of a long-term mission to help cancer survivors reclaim their confidence, purpose, and mindset after treatment—when the hardest part of the journey often begins.
Why This Trek Matters
Cancer treatment may end, but survivorship is a lifelong climb.
Each year, more people survive cancer... but many struggle to re-enter life after months or years of physical, emotional, and psychological trauma. The Kilimanjaro Trek is designed to shine a light on that reality and to raise funds so survivors can participate in transformational experiences that help them rebuild belief in themselves.
Jake was diagnosed with Acute Myelomonocytic Leukemia (AMML) in his early twenties, relapsed, and underwent a life-saving stem cell transplant in 2015. Reaching 10 years cancer-free is something he once wasn’t sure would be possible. This climb represents what is possible on the other side of survival.
How the Campaign Works
🏔 Kilimanjaro Trek – July 2026
Jake will complete a 7-day trek up and down Mount Kilimanjaro (43 total miles), documenting the journey and sharing updates, step counts, and reflections along the way.
Supporters can:
-
Donate directly
-
Sponsor steps taken during training and the climb
-
Follow the journey across social media and campaign updates
Funds raised support cancer survivorship initiatives and future survivor expeditions.
SURVIVOR OPPORTUNITY
Every donation made during 2026 will support another cancer survivor to take the trip of a lifetime, climbing Mt Kilimanjaro with two-time cancer survivor and world-renowed adventurer, Sean Swarner, in 2027.
