As this year's President of The Rotary Club of Santa Cruz Sunrise, it's my honor to be heading out to join all of our riders as part of the crew this year. I'm also joining in on the fundraising effort to support this year's ride. The club has a long history of supporting youth organizations with this ride, and I'm joining in to make a difference for the youth in our community!
This year, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Cruz County is the primary beneficiary of the Sunrise Rotary Charity Bike Ride. Since 1969, the Boys & Girls Club has offered a safe place for kids in our community to receive the mentorship they need to learn, grow and thrive. The Club offers core after school and summer programs, in addition to swim lessons, art, music, a basketball league, surf club and more to kids in our community. Most importantly, the Club provides a place for kids to belong, with trusted and caring mentors who offer daily homework help and healthy meals. When kids have the Club, and the Club has supporters like us, there is nothing this next generation can’t do!

In addition, as always, the ride will provide support to other community organizations dedicated to the heath, well-being and growth of youth in our community. Included are the the Santa Cruz Sunrise Rotary's High School Scholarship program (providing 2 and 4-year college scholarship) and the Charities and Grants program (providing grants to local youth athletic and arts organizations).
I've committed to fund raise a minimum of $1000. So please consider supporting this ride. With our club members participating in the ride, or as an all volunteer crew it ensures that 100% of the proceeds go to the charities, and it’s all tax deductible as the Santa Cruz Sunrise Rotary Foundation is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit.
