COVID POLICY (Updated: 10/05/21)
The Quillen 100 is committed to following CDC and local Health Department guidance to make this event as safe as possible. As such, we are implementing the following requirements this year:
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination on race day (picture or physical card) OR negative test within 72 hours of event (children under vaccination age limit not required to have proof of vaccination).
- Face coverings required during indoor orientation.
- Masks will not be required while outdoors at the event.
We have been monitoring the decline in current case and hospitalization number in our area and feel confident we can put on a safe event with these measures in place. There is no better place to have a safe event than at Bristol Motor Speedway!
The Quillen 100 is a cycling series around the track at Bristol Motor Speedway. For the Little Q and Quillen 100 (relay races) each team has their own pit, exchanges are made on pit road, and the winners are crowned in Victory Lane. The women's and men's crits are single event.
Save $20 if signing up for both the crit and relay with coupon code "series".
This event is powered by medical students at East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine and is timed and run by Race Day Events. The main events will feature a men's and women's criterium and two relays with 2-4 riders per team:
- Men's and Women's Criterium Race: riders will cycle for 40 minutes, after which the leading pack will have one lap to complete the race and determine the winner.
- The Quillen 100: each team will cycle 100 laps (50 miles).
- The Little Q: each team will cycle 40 laps (20 miles)
- Teacher's Cup: Parents and teachers can compete for money for their childrens' classroom!
- Free Kids Ride: Come ride your bike for free and win prizes!
**If you are a STUDENT please contact us below with your student email and we will provide you with a coupon - prices for students are $10 for The Quillen 100, $10 for the criterium and $5 for The Little Q**
Discounts also available for VETERANS, TEACHERS, POLICE, and HEALTHCARE WORKERS.
Information on rules is sent out in race packet after registration. If you do not receive it please let us know. Please arrive 1 hour prior to your scheduled race.
Orientation will be held prior to each race. This will be to go over rules, information regarding race day, and to field questions from riders. Practicing exchanges, and warm-up prior to each respective relay will be allowed before each race.

For this year’s race BMS will be hosting a NHRA Drag Race event on the same day so you will be required to show the attached PARKING PASS (at bottom of packet received via email) to the workers as you turn off of HWY 11E into the BMS SOUTH ENTRANCE (see image below). You will park in Lot B and enter through Gate 9 if coming in by foot and not parking a car on the infield.
Each team will have their own pit on pit road where exchanges are made. Next to your pit you are encouraged to set up a tent, chairs, and coolers for participants and guests of your team at The Quillen 100. If you are planning on driving your car onto the infield you will have access from 9:30am-10:15am but must be either in for the day or back to the outside parking lot by 10:15 am. We will have a volunteer shuttling cars in and out at the gate. If leaving your vehicle on the infield you will not be able to drive the car out until all events are over at 3:30 or 4:30 pm.
If you plan to leave your car outside in the general parking lot (see parking map below) then just make sure you are at Bristol Motor Speedway and checked in in time for your respective race orientation (see schedule above).
Lot B is reserved for event participants and festivalgoers. Lot C is for staff/volunteers only. All individuals will enter the infield through Gate 9 and through the tunnel. The gate with vehicle access to the track will be closed at 10:15 AM.
Teams will be allowed to bring multiple bikes but may use a single bike. Either exchange shown below is allowed. Exchanges must occur within the boundaries of your team's pit and the pit just in front of your team's pit. Boundaries of pit are clearly delineated. Only the current rider and exchanging rider are allowed in the pit. A more detailed outline will be sent in the Event Packet one month prior to the event.
How many people per team?
You can have anywhere from 2 to 4 people on your team, just depends how much you each want to ride.
Do we have to use the same bike?
No, each rider can be on their own bike!
Do we have to raise money to participate in the event?
No, raising money is simply an option and is not required.
Will the race take place on the banks?
Nope! The race will take place right on the track but will stay off the banks to avoid unnecessary risk or injury for those who don't have experience with velodrome. We love velodrome, but this will not be a velodrome-style race.
