Thursday - Race Prep

This is a fun group activity! Meet the crew at race headquarters on Thursday to put together bags for each cyclist to be handed out at check-in on Friday. Help organize gear for SAG and aid stations, and help organize signage and gear for party. Setup venue for Check-In and Race Day. Lunch will be provided

Details

Check-in cyclists for Saturday’s race. Pull up each cyclist’s name and mark as “checked in.” Hand them a swag bag and the correct size t-shirt.

Conduct sales of merch and meal & drink tickets during check-in. We will have all the items set up on an iPad. You will need to swipe credit cards and receive cash.

Pre-Race Road Clean-Up

Details

This is a fun group activity! Ride with the crew out to the end of the pavement and back (32 miles one way). Look for rocks or debris on the road and sweep as necessary. Weed-wack at areas where aid stations will set up. Mark the pavement with spray paint at aid station locations.

Bike maintenance experience required. Stand at repair station with tubes, tire levers, etc. Offer assistance for last-minute fixes such as flat repair. Answer questions about bikes, etc

This position is great for someone who is comfortable taking initiative! You may be asked to help with any of the following tasks: Help with morning coffee, assist riders and other volunteers as necessary, assist race coordinators with unexpected tasks. Check-in with other volunteers. Chat with and check in with cyclists. Point people in the right direction. Make sure volunteers have what they need, and make cyclists feel welcome!

Help set up tables for coffee and water bottle fill. Fill up water jugs as needed. Position coffee, water and electrolytes on tables. Maintain table throughout morning, including trash, cups, etc.

Assist Road Setup Manager. Set up aid stations at MM 10, 15, 20, and 32. Set out tables and pop up tents at each one. Set up “cyclists on road” sign at starting line. Set up start and finish line banners

Aid Station Host - Mile Marker 10 High Priority

This is an exciting and unique job, as you get to be out on the road to watch the ride! Your job is to hand out and assist cyclists in refilling water, answer basic questions, and keep morale high. You will have a walkie-talkie to communicate with the rest of the SAG and aid station team. A ride can be provided to the aid station in one of the SAG cars.

Your job is to hand out and assist cyclists in refilling water, answer basic questions, and keep morale high. You will have a walkie-talkie to communicate with the rest of the SAG and aid station team.

Drive out to the end of the pavement ahead of cyclists with appropriate gear. Fill up water jugs (we will provide jugs) and take 3+ extra gallons of water. Bring bike tools, snacks, and first aid kit. Take walkie-talkie provided and communicate with SAG car. This station is the most remote location. This spot requires two people who can operate together, stay positive and help keep cyclists motivated! Your job is to hand out and assist cyclists in refilling water, answer basic questions, and keep morale high.

Details

Drive within your designated mile markers assisting cyclists as needed. A basic understanding of bike maintenance is helpful but not required. Communicate with associated Aid Station and floater car as necessary. Help make sure cyclists are safe and alert team of any erratic drivers or unsafe conditions. We will provide bike tools and first aid kits. Volunteer must use their own vehicle.

Drive or EBike (provided) the route on Pinto Canyon Road, assisting cyclists as needed. Check in with Aid Stations and other SAG vehicles

We will thank you immensely for your help with this often thankless job! We just need a few extra hands to help with general clean up. Take out trash, break-down furniture as necessary. Break-down bike racks. Assist food team with clean-up if necessary. Put venue back as we found it!
