Welcome to the DTeam, a team co-captained by husband and wife Drew and Cara Costello. This is our seventh year supporting Breakthrough Challenge (BC).
The quick history is that Drew accepted an opportunity to join the BC board in 2020, a decision largely motivated by his Mother’s journey with terminal cancer. As we started to organize one of Cara’s family members, Donna was diagnosed with stage four cancer. More herein on Cara’s Why I Ride.
Through these collective tragedies, the DTeam was formed to honor the memories and contribute to better cancer therapies. Beyond our wildest imaginations, the DTeam has raised over $130K since 2020.
As we enter the 2026 campaign, we kick off yet another journey to see how far the #DTeam Magic will take us. Our call to action remains picking up all those suffering from cancer’s pain and hardship by showing love and support. Too many loved ones continue to be taken from us way to soon.
We proudly stand by this community of family, friends, coworkers and welcome you all to join the D-Team. Whether participating in the virtual fitness challenge (walk, run, bike, peloton), doing the in-person bike ride (Sept 27th at Daniel Boone Homestead in Central PA), or just a supporter, know 100% of the funds raised goes to Penn Medicine's Abramson Cancer Research. Said simply, we are fueling the research that will deliver breakthroughs in cancer therapies!
