Welcome to my Breakthrough Challenge fundraising page! I am participating to show my support for the Breakthrough Challenge and Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center.

     Hello friends and family – As I have done for the past several years I will be participating in the Breakthrough Challenge to support cancer research at Penn Medicine.  This year will be the 13th Anniversary of the Breakthrough Challenge on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at the Daniel Boone Homestead.  This in-person bike ride is for all ages and cycling levels with three routes available (50, 25, and 12 miles); I will be riding the 50 mile route again this year.  

     As you might recall, my wife Meg works in Radiation Oncology at Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center where she and many other caregivers have dedicated their careers to helping the many people diagnosed with cancer to navigate the daily/weekly/monthly cancer treatments and therapy.   

     I am riding on behalf of the men and women (especially my wife) who work to care for and support people diagnosed with cancer every day.  Founded in 2013, the Breakthrough Challenge  unites patients, researchers, their families, and friends for a scenic and inspiring bike ride through Eastern PA's beautiful Oley Valley. To date, the Breakthrough Challenge has donated $3.1million to the ACC, funding 74 research projects. 100% of all participant-raised dollars are donated directly to cancer research at Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center.  The 2026 Breakthrough Challenge brings together a community across all levels.
